University of the Aegean

Welcome to the city of Mytilene on Lesvos Island, home to the University of the Aegean’s Department of Geography. Established in 1984, the University of the Aegean (UAegean) is dedicated to pioneering new approaches in higher education, both in Greece and globally, and fostering regional development. Serving as a social and economic force, it plays a key role as Regional Innovator in the North and South regions of the Aegean Archipelago. Spread across six picturesque islands in the Aegean Archipelago, UAegean provides a distinctive natural, cultural, and human environment for contemporary studies in the ancient cradle of knowledge.
